Interview - Arrtan Kotri
Q: You describe Venn Tour Balkan as a company that offers “tailor-made luxury experiences.” What does that actually mean for travellers?
A: For us, luxury isn’t about five-star hotels or champagne on arrival—although those are lovely touches. It’s about the feeling of being completely cared for. We listen carefully to who our clients are, what excites them, and even how they like to move through the world. From there, we build journeys that fit them like a glove—unique, elegant, and deeply personal. Every itinerary we design is a reflection of someone’s story, not just a list of places to see.
Q: Albania isn’t always the first destination that comes to mind when people think of luxury travel.
Why do you think that’s changing?
A: Because Albania is still a secret—and people are realising how rare that is in Europe. The country has this incredible mix of wild mountain landscapes, turquoise coastlines, and centuries-old history, yet it still feels untouched. There’s something deeply authentic about it. You can hike in complete silence in the Albanian Alps in the morning and sip wine in a sunlit vineyard in the afternoon. For travellers who crave something genuine and unspoiled, Albania feels like a discovery.
Q: What kind of experiences do you create there?
A: It’s a journey through contrasts. One day, guests might find themselves standing inside a medieval castle that’s still home to local families, and the next, they’re sailing across Komani Lake—often compared to the fjords of Norway. We love to blend cultural depth with moments of stillness and wonder. For example, tasting wine in the hills around Berat, watching the colours of the Blue Eye spring shift under the sun, or driving the serpentine Llogara Pass with the sea glittering below. These are experiences that stay with people.
​Q: It sounds like a trip that balances adventure and comfort beautifully. How do you make that happen?
A: That balance is at the heart of what we do. We know that comfort allows people to be present—to fully absorb what they’re seeing. So while we encourage exploration, we always make sure our guests can relax in carefully selected boutique hotels, enjoy private guides who understand the rhythm of travel, and have all the small details seamlessly arranged. It’s freedom without the friction.
Q: What’s one moment from this journey through Albania that always touches your guests?
A: The ferry ride across Komani Lake often does it. There’s a quietness there—steep cliffs, emerald water, an almost mystical calm. People expect beauty, but they don’t expect to feel so moved by it. Many tell us that’s the moment they realise how special Albania is.
Q: Finally, what do you hope travellers take away from a journey with Venn Tour Balkan?
A: A sense of wonder—and maybe a little humility. Albania has a way of surprising you, of reminding you how much beauty exists outside the spotlight. Our role is simply to open the door to that experience and make sure every step feels effortless.
