Denmark

Explore Royal Copenhagen with dozens of palaces and parade squares, visit the world’s most famous Little Mermaid on the country’s main waterfront, and then, turning off the main street of Stroeget, the longest in the world, find yourself on a cosy medieval street with two-story houses from Andersen’s tales. There, like centuries ago, you can have a snack smorebrod — an ancient Scandinavian fast food, northern tapas. For haute cuisine connoisseurs there are dozens of Michelin star restaurants, both luxurious in the centre of Copenhagen near the Royal Opera, and in the Danish wilderness, on the fjord shore, where you can taste the morning catch of oysters. You can go for an oyster safari on your own or visit the natural attractions of Denmark's chalk cliffs Møns Klint, the meeting point of the two seas, Skagen, haven of poets and artists; an original island with a thousand-year history of Bornholm or the tiny archipelago of Ærø. Visit the city of Odense, Andersen’s homeland, where everything is connected with this great storyteller, or spend a couple of days at Legoland Park, where even adults become children. Denmark is the land of castles, enjoy the views of these medieval beauties, stroll along the shady alleys of castle parks, and after a busy day, stop at one of the exquisite hotels nearby on the Danish Riviera. Experience the grandeur of Denmark’s history and the great natural beauty of this most well-kept northern country.
